The
Bee Sustainable™ initiative here at The Chef’s Garden is providing a sustainably grown and continuously flowering source of healthy nectar to our honeybee populations in an ongoing effort to strengthen their wellbeing and their numbers.
Consider fundraising on behalf of the honeybees. The Chef’s Garden customers can help support efforts to Bee Sustainable by participating in our Sustain a Bee or Sponsor an Acre programs. Proceeds from these programs will go toward maintaining and expanding the bee hives and land available for foraging.
You can participate in the Bee Sustainable effort by hosting an event that gives your customers the opportunity to help. Sustain a Bee and Sponsor an Acre fundraisers combine memorable culinary experiences utilizing The Chef’s Garden’s sustainably grown vegetables with messaging and materials about the threat currently facing the honeybees as well as how their troubles affect each and every one of us. 
Establishments that host Sustain a Bee or Sponsor an Acre fundraising events will benefit from favorable public relations surrounding their event as well as overall goodwill with customers and the community. Fundraiser hosts not only demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, they also give their customers the chance to get involved.
Sustain a Bee involves sponsoring a new bee hive on the Bee Sustainable plot. The land is seeded with plant varieties that attract bees and provide a complete source of nutrition throughout the pollination season.
Fundraisers will be recognized for their support with:
- A placard mounted on the sponsored bee hive
- Four seasonal photos of the plot and the land
- A certificate acknowledging their commitment to saving the bees
- A press kit for local/regional distribution that announces their commitment to social and/or corporate responsibility
Sponsor an Acre is a commitment of land to benefit the environment through natural, sustainable means. The host sponsors one acre of land located near The Chef’s Garden farm, which will be seeded with cover crops that efficiently balance Carbon in the atmosphere.
Fundraisers will be recognized for their support with:
- A placard erected on the sponsored land
- Four photos showing seasonal changes on the sponsored land
- A certificate acknowledging their commitment to the environment
- A press kit for local/regional distribution that announces their commitment to social and/or corporate responsibility
The Chef’s Garden is ready to help with additional resources that could include marketing materials outlining your commitment to sustainable practices and a special gift for fundraiser attendees. In addition, Farmer Lee Jones of The Chef’s Garden may be available to speak to your guests.
